Interfaces to Thermo-Nicolet FTIR
LabVIEW Connection Toolkit for Thermo-Nicolet FTIR connects
the Thermo-Nicolet FTIR Omnic software to LabVIEW.
The toolkit contains three levels of functionality:
- top-level, easy examples
- intermediate-level, composite functions
- low-level, connection VIs
The easy examples perform commonly used applications. The example applications are:
- Read and plot spectrum data
- Find and read out peaks
- Read all group parameters
- Sample monitoring application: sample, quant and plot over time on a strip chart
- Series monitoring application: plot series results over time on a strip chart
The intermediate VIs implement a number of common FTIR functions that require several commands to be sent and parameters to be read.
The connection VIs implement all the Omnic commands and allow the user to read and write to all the Omnic parameters.
Visual Basic Interface Software for Thermo-Nicolet FTIR connects the Thermo-Nicolet FTIR to any data acquisition system.
The software features are:
- Samples gas flows at adjustable rate up to the maximum that the Thermo-Nicolet FTIR supports
- Streams the quantity data (ppm of specific gases) through either RS232 or a tcp/ip ethernet connection to any remote computer
- Interfaces to the Thermo-Nicolet FTIR through the Thermo-Nicolet Omnic software
- The interface is written in Omnic Macros/Pro Visual Basic
This software can be used with the Thermo-Nicolet FTIR to monitor impurities in semiconductor gases and to measure the performance of catalytic converters.
